Supervision Violators in Prison: A Comprehensive Review

Abstract

The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Public Safety Performance Project is working with the Justice Research and Statistics Association (JRSA) on a national data collection project to examine the prevalence of technical violators in state prison populations. This project provides a better understanding of the proportion of prison admissions that are for technical revocations, the stock population of each state’s prison system comprised of offenders sent to prison for technical revocations, and how the trend has changed over time.
