The Stability of Aggression: Risk and Protective Factors

Fri, Nov 18, 8:00 to 9:20am, Hilton, Grand Salon 19, 1st Level

Abstract

The stability of aggression has been widely accepted. Yet, little attention has been given to the heterogeneity of aggression and its risk and protective factors. To our best knowledge, only a limited number of studies examined the stability of aggression across the life-course employing rigid methodological frameworks of developmental criminological backgrounds. The present study aims to test and extend the current knowledge of the stability of aggression and its predictors in the South Korean context. More specifically, a semi-parametric group-based approach is used to identify the developmental pathways for aggression of South Korean juveniles between the ages of 13 and 17.
