Abstract

Fear of crime research reveals a number of factors that relate to variation in fear. Among these factors are the experience of victimization and the perceived risk of victimization, though these patterns tend to vary by demographic groups. This paper examines the fear of crime among residents of a small, urban city in Michigan that experiences relatively high rates of violent crime.
