Prisoners also fear to be victimized. In this study, the researcher wants to know the factors causing the fear of victimization in prisons. The fear of victimization differs in 5 types of prisons building and prisoner’s personal characteristics such as gender, age, length of imprisonment and types of crime. The data were collected from 21 prisons in Taiwan in 2011. The sample size was 1505. The independent variables were five types of prison building. The dependent variables were the prisoners’ fear of other prisoners and prison administrator. Personal characteristics were controlled as the moderation between fear of victimization and prisons building. Findings suggested that the administration of prisons should be aware of the prisoner’s fear of victimization in the specific situations.
