The Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, authorizes the Administrator of OJJDP to conduct research or evaluation, and undertake statistical analyses on a wide range of juvenile justice matters. OJJDP also provides funding to states and localities to carry out research, evaluation, and statistical analyses. In the past several fiscal years (FY), OJJDP has funded close to $15 million annually in research projects on a wide variety of topics, including field-initiated research and secondary analyses. This presentation will provide an overview of the OJJDP grant application process; updates on anticipated research funding opportunities in FY2017; and provide prospective applicants with helpful tips on submitting a successful grant proposal.
