Experiential Learning in Higher Education

Abstract

The panel will discuss teaching methods to engage students with authentic problems, questions, tasks, and environments. Experiential learning should provide students with increasing personal relevance, deeper learner, greater retention of materials, and higher graduation rates. Experiential learning is also expected to potentially provide students with networking opportunities for employment in criminal justice fields. The panel will discuss how practitioners and academics may work together to fully develop CJ students for a career in criminal justice.
