Formal and Informal Control of Speech in the European Union

Abstract

The European Union and its member states have laws which criminalizes certain speech. This presentation will discuss the discuss the development of these laws and their impact on political parties and political discussion of migrant crisis. The cooperation of European governments and businesses in limiting some speech and its global impact will also be addressed.
