Gun Violence continues to affect some New York City neighborhoods, particularly low income and marginalized communities. The Research & Evaluation Center at John Jay College analyzed more than ten years of police data and hospital admissions data associated with violent injuries in neighborhoods implementing the Cure Violence model. The study analyzed trends in violence between 2004 and 2015 using quasi-experimental and time-series techniques. Results from this study may have implications for future crime reduction initiatives.
