Abstract

Social media often acts as a sounding board for individuals to share their views on topics ranging from the mundane to newsworthy, including those of crime and justice matters. Recently, we have seen an upswing in people utilizing social networking websites to share stories and memes related to law enforcement in both positive and negative lights. This study seeks to use a scenario based approach to determine what factors influence the sharing of law enforcement stories and memes on these social platforms.
