The Model Programs Guide: Translating Evidence-Based Research into Action-Oriented Steps

Abstract

Since its inception over 15 years ago, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's Model Programs Guide (MPG) has been a resource for policymakers and practitioners about evidence-based juvenile justice and youth prevention, intervention, and reentry programs. Today, the website includes over 250 programs across a variety of juvenile justice-related topic areas. A new feature of the website, the MPG iGuides (short for ‘implementation guides’), is designed to enhance the information provided about implementing programs in real-world settings and interpret complicated, but important research about the implementation process for practitioners implementing MPG programs. The presentation will discuss the components of the iGuides framework and the development of the first two iGuides currently available on the MPG. The iGuides website will also be demonstrated.
