This presentation will summarize the latest findings from the 2014 Juvenile Residential Facility Census (JRFC), one of two OJJDP sponsored data collections focusing exclusively on youth in residential placement facilities. Every few years, the JRFC instrument is expanded to ask detailed questions about specific topic areas (commonly referred to as “modules”). The 2014 JRFC included the following modules: Mental Health Services, Education Services, and Substance Abuse Services. The modules provide a unique glimpse into the services available to youth in residential placement. As such, this presentation will focus on the characteristics of facilities that offer such services, along with the population they serve.
