The Relationship Between Victim Characteristics and Static and Dynamic Risk Variables in Female Sexual Offenders

Abstract

There has been an increase in the amount of research on female sexual offenders (FSOs). The majority of FSO research thus far has focused on typologies and characteristics of offenders and victims. Little research has examined the relationship between certain victim characteristics and offender characteristics within FSOs. To determine the relationship between these various characteristics, this research will focus on age and gender of the victim, along with offender characteristics measured via the Level of Service Inventory-Revised (LSI-R) and the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R). These characteristics will be compared in a sample of approximately 240 female sexual offenders and victims, which is a much larger sample size than other studies containing FSOs.
