Abstract

This presentation will provide an overview of the U.S. Department of Justice-funded Averted School Attacks Data Collection Platform, which is designed to enable schools and law enforcement agencies to contribute data on averted school attacks that have occurred in the U.S. since January 2000. The purpose of the platform is to provide law enforcement, school officials and others with a deeper understanding of the dynamics, timing and evolution of these threats, so that we can be better prepared to prevent future tragedies.
