State crime has largely been ignored by the research community, especially at the cross-national level of analysis. The purpose of this project is to better understand the relationship between state crime and a number of predictor variables, including government type. More specifically, the analysis will seek to explain the factors that contribute to the extrajudicial killing of journalists. This analysis will provide the background necessary to advance the development of criminological theory to explain state criminality.
