Does anti money laundering combat money laundering or crimes?

Abstract

A large amount of money and time has been spent on erecting a global system to combat money laundering in the expectation that it will reduce serious crimes and lead to readier conviction and financial recoveries from offenders. this paper reviews the evidence related to those propositions.
