The Role of Multinational Corporations in Corruption in the Developing Countries

Abstract

Corruption is still prevalent in most developing countries of sub-Saharan Africa that are suffering from poor governance and lack of well-developed institutions. One of the contributing factors to the poor governance is corruption. This paper examines whether multinational corporations play a role in promoting corruption in this region. It examines the policies and practices of multinational corporations that consciously or unconsciously encourage corruption.
