Legalizing Cannabis: Jurisdictions, Mechanism of Distribution and Regulation of Production of the Product

Abstract

This paper will consider potential obstacles to cannabis legalization, and the extent of regulation necessary with respect to the various products that might be offered for medical or recreational use. Further, there will be discussion of the various systems of distribution currently in place: the MMPR, dispensaries, and the former options for self production that existed under the previous federal regulations regarding the medical use of cannabis.
