What's it All About: Student Involvement in Applied Research

Abstract

This presentation discusses the perils and promise of participation in such a research project for a student. The involvement includes data gathering and verification, observation, and participation in presentations. Each of these activities will be explored for their value to student learning and future aspirations. This type of activity enhances the chances of understanding data and how to answer an applied research question. It becomes easier to see the different information within the research results. This type of research makes the experience of being a student more enjoyable because the relevance of some things is much clearer.
