This paper examines the on-going political and economic disputes of the construction of CentrePointe (Lexington, Kentucky) as a crime. In 2008, The Webb Corporation razed an entire block of historic downtown Lexington with a promise to build a new high-rise, bringing new hotels, restaurants, and businesses to the bluegrass. As of May 7, 2016, there is still a giant hole in the city center. We will show the timeline and lack of progress over the past eight years along with our hypothesis that the Webb Corporation has been scamming the city out of money, time, and resources.
