As part of the Juvenile Justice Reentry Measurement Standards project, the Vera Institute of Justice conducted a review of the research to identify possible key indicators for measuring the juvenile reentry process, including data to track and understand youths’ institutional experiences, transitional supports or services and programs that youths both need and receive while in out-of-home placement and during the transition to the community, and youth outcomes indicating services’ impact on both public safety and positive youth development. Vera engaged in a systematic approach to review the current literature in implementation science, juvenile reentry and youth development. Vera will present on the findings from the review, highlighting areas that overlapped with best practice in the field and those that were used to inform the development of the draft standards.
