Given the national critique of a pattern of racially discriminatory police practices in the United States, it is imperative to engage students in a well-rounded critical conversation about the history of policing in the United States. Using an online discussion forum centered around video conversations, students are asked to consider police legitimacy in light of practices of racial profiling and lethal use of force against non-white communities.
