What is to be Done About Crime and Punishment: International Perspectives

Abstract

In rapidly changing and troubled world there is a growing need to formulate innovative and viable policies. It is increasingly necessary to formulate policies that are theoretically and empirically based and that are also practical. In this session we include four presentations which are based on chapters from a newly published book entitled 'What is to be Done About Crime and Punishment? (Palgrave Macmillan 2016). These papers address the continuing problem of violence in a period of an apparent 'crime drop', the vexed issue of prison reform, the growing concerns about white collar and corporate crime and the recent rise of cybercrime. This range of papers is designed to present a range of progressive interventions that can be developed in each of these areas.
