Assessing Differences in the Impact of Multiple Risk and Protective Factors on Adolescent Behavior

Abstract
A great deal of research has acknowledged the strong correlation among delinquency and other health-risk behaviors in adolescence. This panel expands on this body of work with four studies that examine the risk and protective factors (spanning individual and contextual domains of risk) related to a range of behavioral outcomes including delinquency, substance use, victimization at school, and sexual behavior. Together, these studies offer a comprehensive assessment of the similarities and differences in the factors that are key to understanding engagement in multiple risk behaviors during adolescence and early adulthood.
