Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel

Abstract

This panel conceptualizes, sociologically situates, and analyzes risk-taking and Edgework across several subfields in the study of crime and deviance: re-entry, white collar crime, and terrorism. We explore questions of how risk is implicated in decision-making which can lead to criminal transgression, but also how it is uniquely characteristic of the current historical moment.
