Migration Crisis in Europe

Abstract

This panel will present trends, control policies and the link between migration and crime in the context of the ‘refugee crisis’ and recent developments in the EU. The discussion includes critical issues on the relevance of the existing theoretical approaches, new empirical data on migrations in different EU countries and analysis of the new fears, risks and security strategies against the ‘unwanted’ newcomers.
