Narrating the Life Course and the Process of Desistance

Abstract
This session draws upon qualitative research in life course criminology to examine the complex process of desisting from crime. Attention is afforded to challenging definitions of and barriers to desistance, disentangling the interplay between agency and structure, and the echo of early life course experiences on later life course development.
