Abstract

The papers in this panel examine the influence child maltreatment, childhood risks, mental health, and formal social controls on early and late onset offending. Of particular focus is gender differences in early and late onset offending pathways and related offending patterns. The authors also consider the policy implications of their work, particularly for gender-sensitive criminal justice programming.
