Abstract

Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice is a leader in juvenile justice data and research. With a statewide juvenile justice data system that manages all facets of juvenile justice (civil citation, diversion, probation, treatment services, residential commitment, and post-commitment supervision), fourth-generation recidivism risk assessment instruments, and a dedicated team of 20 research staff, Florida has enormous capacity for research. FDJJ is open to academic and non-academic researchers who would like to partner for the advancement of juvenile justice knowledge. The papers presented include interdisciplinary topics that bridge law enforcement, criminal justice systems, child welfare systems, adverse childhood experiences, sexual offense treatment, and recidivism risk assessment. Papers include advanced methodology and statistical techniques, but ensure that dynamic visual representations and discussion remains accessible to policymakers and practitioners.
