Abstract

Several jurisdictions across the country have begun to focus their efforts on testing, investigating, and prosecuting previously unsubmitted sexual assault kits (SAKs). Houston, Detroit, and Cleveland are jurisdictions that have been trailblazers in this effort. This panel will focus on findings from the researchers partners of these three jurisdictions, focusing specifically on how research on unsubmitted SAKs can inform and reform the way that sexual assaults and SAKs are testing, investigated, and prosecuted.
