Abstract

Neighborhoods are dynamic entities that can experience a myriad of social and structural changes that affect crime. From social disorganization theory to exogenous shocks, neighborhood changes have been theorized to impact crime in multiple ways. This panel examines different types of neighborhood change and their distinct implications for crime, health, and public safety.
