Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
Panel members will explore the various types of violence and victimization occurring during periods of detention for youth and incarceration for adults, as well research conducted in a statewide prison system to address an increase in these events. Bringing together researchers and practitioners, this panel provides diverse perspectives on the issue of violence and victimization in correctional facilities. The panel will conclude with a discussion on the current state of the research, and policies and practices aimed at stemming institutional violence and victimization.
