People, Places, and Time: Consequences for Crime

Thu, Nov 17, 12:30 to 1:50pm, Hilton, Chequers, 2nd Level

Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel

Abstract

The papers in this session explore both the spatial and temporal dimensions of where people go and the consequences for crime across the spatial landscape. The papers all use small units of analysis (blocks or street segments) and disentangle the temporal process in various manners-- ranging from crime events during one-hour periods to viewing the consequence of the annual change in contexts for crime rates.
