Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel convenes researchers and practitioners to discuss ways to forge a collaborative practitioner-researcher partnership to develop policy-relevant research in juvenile justice and interim findings from such a partnership between the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice and the Urban Institute that aims to advance current practice in aggression management for medium- and high-risk juvenile offenders. The panel also provides insights into how to address challenges in developing a collaborative partnership with juvenile justice agencies and conducting research with institutionalized youths in a secure facility.
