Abstract

Social network analysis is slowly but surely gaining a foothold in criminology. This panel brings together researchers using a range of sources of social network data from the United States, Canada, and Norway to study gang membership, co-offending, and police behavior. Papers incorporate novel techniques to explore the relationship between ego network characteristics and reoffending, the evolution of criminal network structures over time, and considerations of spatial proximity on criminal collaboration.
