NIJ: Addressing the Value of Collaborations in Research and Practice - Federal Partnerships between the National Institute of Justice and Its Federal Partners

Abstract

As the research, development and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) aims to improve knowledge and understanding of crime and justice issues through science. This important task is possible due to enduring collaborative efforts with many federal partners who share this vision. This panel will highlight ongoing collaborations between NIJ and our federal partners including the Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking (SMART), the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and it will provide insight into the development of successful intraagency partnerships.
