Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
Short-term discipline specific study abroad programs are often a worthy addition to criminal justice departments and students in our discipline. Students consistently walk away from these programs with a greater world perspective on criminal justice issues, a stronger appreciation for other cultures, and other significant measures of personal growth. These well-designed programs can also assist in both recruitment and retention so many universities are encouraging the development of these programs and are offering more assistance to faculty and students. This roundtable will focus on best practices and personal experiences from academics with familiarity in designing programs/courses and traveling with students on criminal justice study abroad programs.
