Roundtable: Graffiti and Street Art

Abstract

This panel explores the popular and scholarly literature on graffiti and street crime, assesses what we have accomplished in these fields, and where scholarly research in the fields of criminology, criminal justice and allied social sciences and humanities must go to better understand this largely urban phenomenon. Additional topics may include the role of do it yourself projects (DIY), culture jamming, ad busting, and the effect of social media in the proliferation and dissemination of graffiti and street art.
