Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
This roundtable will analyze various barriers to reporting sexual assault and domestic violence. Barriers range from lack of resources in the community to laws that indirectly criminalize the victim when these incidents happen. Each barrier will be critiqued from a feminist/intersectional standpoint to give a holistic view of the problem and how it affects different communities. The discussion will center around victim rights, knowledge, and access to reporting abuse. Juvenile rights, tribal laws, and funding concerns will be raised during the discussion.
