Abstract

In order to obtain a better understanding of global challenges encountered by today’s police departments, a panel of experts affiliated with the International Police Executive Symposium (IPES, www.ipes.info ) will discuss strategies, success stories, long and short-term plans and suggestions to offer unsurpassed services to their respective populations presented through four volumes of an IPES Series, entitled, Trends in Policing: Interviews with Police Leaders Across the Globe (based on interviews). The 5th volume is under publication by Routledge/Taylor and Francis. Police practitioners, scholars and academics who interviewed global police leaders, present in-depth analyses-from an insider’s perspective-of organizational structures, the changing nature of police work, leadership, training, educational attainment, culture and societal contexts of organizations in different countries. The invited panelists include: Frederic Lemieux; Dilip Das; Bruce Baker; Justin Crowl; Diana Bruns; Michael Berlin; Todd Wuestewald, James Albrecht, and Ellen Boyne
