Social scientists have long to considered the effects of macro-level measures on offending, however, it was not until recently that contextual measures have been extended to parolee outcomes. The current paper applies the lens of social disorganization theory on parolee outcomes. Moreover, we examine the effects of general service providers and DOC referred service providers on parolee reincarceration for new offenses and technical violations. We argue that proximal availability to service providers may be able to weaken the effects of neighborhood characteristics, as well as individual-level predictors of reincarceration.
