Abstract

Goal of the study
The main goal of this study is to find the association between victimization experience and future educational achievement. In order to explain the association between them, the level of juvenile delinquency will be inserted in the full model. Therefore, the model will investigate whether the bullying victimization experience predicts their future educational achievement through the likelihood of delinquent behaviors.

Research method
The longitudinal panel data of South Korea will be employed. The mediating effect of minor delinquency on the relationship between bullying victimization experience and educational achievement will be discussed by propensity score matching. The control group will be the group of non-victimized children, on the other hand, the targeted group will be children who have experience of bullying victimization. After matching the units by propensity scores which account for control variables, the value of educational achievement will be compared between matched pairs. Afterward, the mediating variable will be inserted.

Impact
This study will examine two important issues on the current public educational system. One is about the negative effect of bullying victimization on their lifetime development. The other is the impact of victimization on their likelihood of delinquency to cope with their strain.
