This analysis aims to inform future violence prevention efforts through examination of the association between relationship status, race, and victimization type. Using data from the 2010 NISVS data collection effort, the type of relationship between victim and perpetrator at first victimization will be investigated by victim race across several victimization categories (i.e., psychological aggression, physical violence, etc.). Differences, if any, will be discussed in light of their implications for tailoring violence prevention strategies based on relationship type for these populations.
