Abstract

Outcome data for the study of the FFT-G intervention come from interviews conducted with every youth and caregiver prior to random assignment and again six months later and from court records describing the criminal history, recidivism, and residential placements of each youth participant. Interviews asked respondents to report on the youth’s criminal activity, substance use, gang involvement, and intermediate outcomes targeted by the FFT-G intervention. The response rates for these interviews at post-test were 92.2% for youth and 90.7% for parents.

This presentation discusses the measurement properties of the scales developed using the youth and caregiver interviews and presents data on the treatment-control differences on outcomes measured with these interviews. I t also presents results from a preliminary analysis of program effects on recidivism and residential placement as of six months post random assignment.
