This paper focuses on storytelling as a pedagogical tool. Several authors have noted the use of storytelling throughout history as a way to share and teach information. Additionally, storytelling is often a part of many of our daily communications, professionally and personally. Some suggest that storytelling engages all parts of the brain (Zull, 2002). This paper presents the results of a survey regarding student attitudes on storytelling in the classroom. Also, covered from the broader literature is the importance of student self-reflection. Suggestions for pedagogy and additional research are discussed.
