Cybercrime is increasingly affecting everyone from individuals to the government and private sectors worldwide. This study aims to build comprehensive cybercrime prevention guidelines via a meta-assessment of the Cyber-Routine Activities Theory (Cyber-R.A.T.). This meta-analysis includes an initial sample of 88 independent studies across the world and demonstrates how two key factors of Cyber-R.A.T., Digital Guardianship and Online Lifestyle, play pivotal roles in a wide range of cybercrime victimization. The study findings suggest that two causal factors have significant effects on cybercrime victimization. The study provides guidance to IT policy and practice.
