Rape Myth Acceptance Among Chinese Police Officers

Abstract

This study explores Chinese police officers’ attitudes toward rape using the Chinese Rape Myth Acceptance scale (CRMA). The survey data is used to examine two hypotheses: (1) Chinese police officers would accept rape myth; (2) attitudes toward rape is expected to vary according to gender, educational attainment, experience with rape investigation. The results are discussed in term of scale’s applicability in the Chinese context.
