This talk will demonstrate how criminal justice students are not hindered by their lack of technical expertise to understand the mindsets of cyber adversaries. Using the second real-time joint cybersecurity exercise with electrical and computer engineering students, this talk shares experiences of how criminal justice students designed simulated cyberattacks against virtual power grids operated by engineering students. This talk will also discuss whether the observations made during the real-time exercise matched the predictions criminal justice students made when they designed the cyberattacks.
