This study is part of the larger project on procedural justice during police citizen encounters conducted in Norfolk, VA. The three major components of the study include officer training and surveys, a citizen satisfaction survey, and systematic social observations of police citizen encounters as recorded by body worn cameras. The presentation will describe how the three components of the study are integrated to comprehensively examine procedural justice issues. Preliminary officer, citizen and observation findings will be shared and policy and research implications will be discussed.
