Applying the Guidelines Research-to-Practice Translation Process More Broadly in Juvenile and Criminal Justice

Thu, Nov 16, 9:30 to 10:50am, Marriott, Franklin 3, 4th Floor

Abstract

This paper will explore how the approach employed in the guidelines development process could be applied in other areas in justice. Historically, juvenile drug treatment courts have had broad practical appeal, consistent funding support, and a potentially large target population, but they have largely been built upon equivocal evidence; which, is also true of other interventions across juvenile and criminal justice. This paper will discuss how the methodology used in this project might apply to other areas to amplify the use of the evidence base and develop practical guidance for implementing and evaluating these other areas.
