Stand Your Ground: Where Are We Now?

Abstract

The poster explores use of stand your ground as a defense; the origins of the defense and its implementation across the country is examined. Emphasis is on the politics of control, race, offender and victim characteristics, state history and the political demographics of the state. Questions are also raised about the effectiveness and impact of the legislation.
